For the past few years I have been asked by Adam Frey to write a major arrangement for the International Euphonium Institute (IEI).  This work is for 4 euphoniums and 4 tubas.  I tried to capture as much of the original Brahms as possible.

This arrangement features themes from various Bruckner symphonies.  Also written for the IEI, again using 4 euphoniums and 4 tubas.

For the most recent IEI the challenge came to score this movement of Church Windows for 4 euphoniums and 4 tubas.  What a powerhouse!

While on faculty at Bowling Green State University I often partnered with other studios to give chamber concerts.  One of my absolute favorites the bassoon studio.  I score a version of this famous Henry Mancini tune for contrabassoon solo with mixed ensemble of bassoons, euphoniums and tubas.

While trying to select rep to perform with the bassoons I had the hair-brained idea to do some Gabrieli.  Why not?  Many of the works of his time period were for unspecified instruments....  Maybe he would have wanted this....

  • Play Mark Wilcox MemorialMark Wilcox MemorialMark Wilcox Memorial

Upon hearing of the passing of one of my best friends and longtime colleagues I sat down to write a memorial work to be performed by his students at his service.  I combined a number of his favorite works into a medley for trumpet ensemble.

  • Play Welcome ChristmasWelcome ChristmasWelcome Christmas

While working with a local youth theatre organization I had the chance to conduct a holiday concert with a regional orchestra.  I decided to combine the two groups to perform a number of selections together.  I arranged this for vocals with strings and light winds.

A local musician that I have performed with decided to do a recording project and wanted to add a solo cello line.  He asked me to compose the line and above is the computer version superimposed over his original vocal.

"Tim Olt is a long time friend and absolutely first class arranger. He has presented master classes at Eastman on arranging and with his college brass ensemble. I look forward to having more commissions from him."

Don Harry, tuba professor                               Eastman School of Music

"Tim's arrangement of Bruckner symphonic excerpts for a tuba-euphonium ensemble is imaginative and beautifully scored. I thoroughly enjoyed preparing it, and only regret that we didn't have more time to enjoy its sonic splendor!"
